ADA

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) gives civil rights protections to individuals with disabilities that are like those provided to individuals on the basis of race, sex, national origin, and religion. It guarantees equal opportunity for individuals with disabilities in employment, public accommodations, transportation, State and local government services, and telecommunications.

FERPA

FERPA is a Federal law that insures the privacy and accuracy of student education records. FERPA gives parents certain rights with respect to their children's education records. These rights transfer to the student when he or she reaches the age of 18 or attends a school beyond the high school level.

SCORM

Sharable Content Object Reference Model is for compilation of technical specifications for web-based e-learning. The SCORM standards are governed and published by the Advanced Distributed Learning Initiative (ADL).Diaspark make sure to follow the standard.

LMS

A learning management system (LMS) is a software application or Web-based technology used to plan, implement, and assess a specific learning process. IT also provide students with the ability to use interactive features such as threaded discussions, video conferencing, and discussion forums.

W3C

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) is an international community that develops standards to ensure the long-term growth of the Web. The social value of the Web is that it enables human communication, commerce, and opportunities to share knowledge. W3C's make these benefits available to all people, whatever their hardware, software, network infrastructure, native language, culture, geographical location, or physical or mental ability.

ADL

Advance Distribution learning basically Standardize and modernize training and education management and delivery to prove the access of highest quality learning.

AICC

Aviation Industry CBT (Computer-Based Training) Committee is an international association of technology-based training professionals. The AICC develops guidelines for aviation industry in the development, delivery, and evaluation of CBT, WBT, and related training technologies. The AICC HACP standard for CMI is widely used by Learning Management Systems and other systems to call content and assessments. Although it is pre-XML, it is very robust and unambiguous and many consider it to be more secure and reliable than alternatives such as SCORM, especially for content or assessments hosted on web servers not collocated with the calling system

IEEE

‘Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers’ – among other things, creates standards such as ‘IEEE Standard for Software Test Documentation’ ‘IEEE Standard of Software Unit Testing ‘IEEE Standard for Software Quality Assurance and others.
